Sample revisions and line plans

I had the awesome opportunity to work with a technical outerwear brand, Strafe, based in Aspen, Colorado. I was able to spend some time

assisting Designer/Developer Pia Halloran. During the week, we revised samples for the Fall/Winter 2021 line that included technical ski jackets and snow pants. We started with measurements and fit sessions to make sure that each component of the item was to tech pack specifications, as well as making sure that it looked good and draped correctly on body. We looked for things like length, width, zipper placements, seam placements, tight areas, etc. Then we went on to adjust the tech pack and redline where we still had some issues in the garments. Once we adjusted the tech packs, we then sent the revisions to the factory to update and approve the style's start of production.

I was then walked through the process of line planning for a new season. We made sure to include descriptions, style number, style name, sketches, material selection, factory, FOB, Wholesale and Retail Price. This was an incredible experience to go through what it takes to plan a line 18 months in advance. I learned there is a ton of collaboration and communication that goes into figuring out what areas to expand in to.

"WE’RE ATHLETE OWNED SO WE MAKE THE GEAR WE NEED."

About strafe

Born in Aspen, Colorado, Strafe started with a deep passion for mountain living and the highest of quality modern mountain apparel. It was only right to mix those passions and create Strafe Outerwear. â€‹

Twin brothers John and Pete Gaston started Strafe because of an obsession with the Highland Bowl. Hiking the bowl, ripping down to the lift, and then doing it all over again. They needed apparel that blended

breathability and waterproof, while still having snow specific features that allowed them to move freely and ski hard all day. In 2010, they made their first products: technical jackets, pants and one-pieces.
