As the Assistant Softball Coach, I was responsible for the development of the infielders and hitters. I guided my players on the importance of fundamentals and mechanics. I ran drills that focused on staying low to the ground, explosive first few steps, and becoming comfortable in high pressure situations.

 

As the hitting coach, I did similar things and had my players doing drills that focused on power at the hips and having the hands follow. I had them work on placing their hits based on where the ball was pitched and driving thru the ball.

Overall, my main responsibilities in this role was to hone in on the small aspects that would transfer over to the big aspects of the game.
