Air Jordan 1 AI Study

In an effort to continue developing my Adobe Illustrator skills, I moved forward with a classic silhouette in the Air Jordan 1. I began this study by tracing an existing photo of an Air Jordan 1 using the pen tool, and isolating each component of the shoe to later input colors. I also added stitching to the pieces to enhance the look of the shoe.

Creating pieces from a grouped silhouette pattern

After isolating each component using the join tool under Path, I was able to assign colors to each piece of the shoe. For this shoe I used a green color palette, and color matched my favorite colors on the color palette using the eyedropper tool.

Adding Texture

Finally, I played around with a new skill I had learned which is texturing. This is my first ever attempt at texturing an illustration that I had done. I went to google and found different leather textures that I liked, and was able to texture each piece using the Clipping Mask tool. It is awesome seeing your illustration come to life after you put a little texture to it.
