Through adidas University, I was able to take part in a challenge to answer through the lens of products, services, and experiences, what the future of sport is and what trends I'm seeing in sport that have the ability to elevate the best athletes. As technology continues to advance, I believe the future of sport is being able to train anywhere and everywhere while having facilities that imitate exact environments and weather conditions in preparation for outdoor sports. With this ideation, I was invited to the adidas Maker Lab to learn, prototype an idea that was chosen, and present to industry professionals. The challenge was to create a shoe that would compliment a genetic condition, pes planus, also known as flatfoot. My group came up with a completely new idea of customization using heated molding of the midsole and outsole, and morphing the upper to the top portion of the foot for maximum support and comfort.
